About me
Hi, I’m Alex Morozov. I live in Waterloo, Ontario with my wife and two children.
I started my software development journey in late 90s with Turbo Basic, and then taught myself x86 Assembler and C.
After completing my master’s in Economics and Informatics in 2004, I worked for a few government agencies, mostly using Borland C++ Builder and some proprietary accounting platforms.
In 2007, I decided to switch gears and joined a regional travel company. Surprisingly, that proved to be a good decision. Over 10 years, I helped transform a small brick-and-mortar company into a federal-scale leader in the online travel segment. I learnt a lot, being in charge of digital growth, strategy, and R&D synergy. Last but not the least, I totally fell in love with Python and Django.
In 2018, I embarked on a new adventure and moved to Canada. Today, I work for a swiftly growing cybersecurity startup, helping create customer-facing massive-scale systems in the cloud.
I like to think of myself as of a person who works at the intersection of R&D, digital growth, and business strategy.
